Artist Biography

Ed Rutowski is a fine artist living in the Grand Rapids, MI area. His concentrations are painting and drawing. Rutowski earned his BFA degree through studies at Grand Rapids Community College and School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He has exhibited work in regional and national juried exhibitions and galleries, and has work in corporate collections and multiple private collections.

Many of Ed’s larger works are created in many layers. They reveal only sections of the underpainted surfaces. The decision of what to show and what to cover up, may come almost from the subconscious, and yet the results still always reflect and show a balance and control.
